A new build apartment development bestowed an award for Excellence of Design by The Architectural Association of Ireland in 1993. Peter Cook, foreign assessor, said “ I found the rear elevation particularly interesting as a piece of abstracted design. It obviously appeals to the designer – it’s the one with which they really wanted to convey their ideas of architecture, and we see it in the photographs and drawings. I think it has Viennese overtones. As a clearly architectural device, it’s quite a bold thing to attempt. I found myself looking a long time at the section. . . . I kept coming back to this scheme. “
